Unlike the old museum, the Grand Egyptian Museum is very well-placed for access through different ways. It is close to the freeway that circles the metropolitan area of Cairo, and also close to the Cairo ring road. Since the location was so well thought, you can access with public and private transport as well.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is located 2 km from the Giza Pyramid plateau. It is placed on a high hill at the beginning of the Cairo-Alexandria desert Road and can be also accessed from the Fayoum Desert Road. It is place next to the El-Mansouria canal and El-Remaya Square.
